Talk Strategy

Name: Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War
Player: Cremator
Game: Skirmish playing Chaos Space Marines

Chaos.

Smash, kill, rape, pillage, we do it all. Today is like any other, those holier-than-thou Space Marines are trying to take back our newly defiled soil and the Blood God will not allow it!

We start as we always do two Heretics and two Cultist Squads to start the acquisition of territory. One Heretic is actually tortured into working so speedily that it spells his demise. No matter, there are always others...

Our immediate goal is to get out several squads for the inevitable rush the Marines send our way; fail to hold that off and we're done here already.

As expected, the Space Marines come in but with a Cultist Squad and a Chaos Marine squad, we drive them off when their morale breaks. Now we must venture out and take over more strategic points.

As another Heretic joins our ranks, it's time to build the armory and several turrets. This, as well as two Marine Squads should be enough to hold the base from a medium-sized assault so we can build the Machine Pit for some much-needed Armor support.

Jumping past several skirmishes of troops, the enemy has two Dreadnoughts heading towards our base and we are desperately upgrading a squad with rockets and all three turrets are upgrading as well. Will the Blood God favor us this day?

Yes, we do stop the assault, but it leaves us with no troops left. A quick secondary attack will likely be our doom.

Time. More time is what we need: the Pit is nearly ready to spew forth the Defilers lined-up three deep for immediate production.

The arrival of the Defilers and a Chaos Lord is enough for us to take back several lost strategic points as well as make a stab for the Relic we need to call the Bloodthirster. With demonic assistance, our victory will be assured!

Now we are ready for the final push; Defilers, Obliterators, a Sorcerer and a Bloodthirster queued-up and over half of the map ours, we set forth to unleash the beast. But no, what is this? Two Predator tanks, a Dreadnought and three squads of Terminators? This will be closer than expected, so the Bloodthirster is summoned. No, he's not enough! One Predator down. Terminators routed. Dreadnought crushed. But the remaining Predator is too much, and the Bloodthirster drops. We are left with the Two Obliterator Squads, the Sorcerer and nothing else.

Resources. We have accumulated a vast store of resources, so another Bloodthirster is requested.

As the remnants from both sides lick their wounds, an evil grows.

And when the time came, the reincarnated Bloodthirster walked the land and nothing this time could stop it.
