A few more quick notes today. Let's see. My hosting provider notified me of a exploit that needed to be patched in the forum software. I must admit I haven't been keeping as quite as close an eye on that as I should have. Fortunately, I was able to update and patch the software without incident. Let me know if you experience any changes or problems.
Slashdot pointed out that Rockstar has released the next in its free classics line. It's Grand Theft Auto 2 for the PC. Not a bad little free download. Grab it Here.

Just a quick update today (just cuz I love ya). EA is in negotiations with the NBA for a similar exclusivity offer to their NFL deal. Their initial offers have been rebuffed. That doesn't mean money won't sway the NBA. If you were upset with the thought of the NFL exclusive license, you might want to let the NBA know your feelings right now on a similar deal. One hasn't been signed and can still be prevented.
I added a bunch of SWAT 4 screenshots Here. This is the game made by Irrational after Urban Justice was canned. Strangely some sites still list it as urban justice. It looks interesting and somewhat streamlined. Check it out if you're interested.

Just a reminder that today is the last day for the Child's Play toy drive. If you've been procrastinating, you've succeeded. Now it's time to act. The kiddies will thank you for it.
Unic did finish up the AAR in the forum over the weekend. It's a fun read. Highly recommended.
If you've always been interested in a MMORPG but were scared of the commitment, Funcom is here to help. They've decided to give the basic Anarchy Online away free with no subscription. It's a new model and will be interesting to see how it works out. Here's the link. If you're wondering what the catch is, basically you can only play the base game. If you want the upgrades and expansion packs, you start the subscription treadmill. You should be able to get a pretty good feel for the game before you get to that point, so it works out well. Right now the offer is only good until the 15th of January. I imagine they'll see how the response is before determining whether to extend it.
The Half Life 2 demo is out. You need a steam account to play. Look for it at the usual suspects.
This week's game is a futuristic tactical game. It's Bet on Soldier (official site) from Kylotonn Entertainment. It's a FPS featuring a custom engine set in a world lost in war. Megacorporations manage the war, hiring mercenaries and pitting them against one another. Then people start betting on the outcomes when their favorite mercenaries clash. Of course, the surviving Mercs get a cut of the action. Look to start placing bets in the second quarter of 2005.
